Joust: Joustus Clone for Playdate

Joust is a clone of Joustus from Shovel Knight for the Playdate handheld. It is a strategy card game where two players (local) use arrows to push each other's cards around in order to control gems on a board.

Rules: 

-Game starts with 3 randomly placed 'gems' (the little circle guys)

-You may place cards anywhere in the 9 central spaces except on a gem.

-You may place cards slightly to the side/above/below already played cards to PUSH them with an arrow facing that direction on your card. If that card or any in it's column have opposing arrows, you can not push. Double arrows (they've got two triangles instead of one) can push singles, but not other doubles.

Controls:

Main Menu - A to start

Game - Up,Down,and A to select a card from your hand, Dpad and A to place it, B to go back to your hand when placing. DPAD moves WHICH WAY YOU PUSH. if you are on a square and push UP then you will be SLIGHTLY above the tile you were on. this means if you place, it will try to push DOWN on the tile you were on.

Winning:

have your pieces on THE MOST gems when all 9 central tiles are full.

Tip:

-push your opponent's cards OFF the gems. This helps to win.

-you can push IN BETWEEN already placed cards. like say [O] is a card, you could place one where the X is in [O]X[O] even if the two [O]s are right next to each other (if you can push).
